Getting started

pivot3d is a command line tool. It works on files on your computer and only talks to pivot3d.xyz to sign in.

Sign in

Run this once on each machine. It opens the browser, you approve a short code, and you are done.

$ pivot3d login
Open https://pivot3d.xyz/device and enter WDJB-MJHT
Signed in as you@studio.co — Pro
$ pivot3d whoami
$ pivot3d logout

Retarget a clip

Look at the mapping first, dry-run with the review page, then export.

$ pivot3d inspect --source rig.fbx --target avatar.glb --emit-mapping mapping.json
$ pivot3d retarget --source rig.fbx --target avatar.glb --anim walk.fbx \
--mapping mapping.json --dry-run --report report.json --viewer review.html
$ pivot3d retarget --source rig.fbx --target avatar.glb --anim walk.fbx \
--mapping mapping.json --output walk.glb

Inspecting, mapping, dry runs, reports, renders, the review page, and the browser studio are free. Writing the exported files needs Pro.

Formats

Reads FBX, GLB, glTF, and VRM. Writes FBX (animation only, with the target skeleton), GLB, and glTF with the full scene.
